Minneapolis Frozen Perl 2008 is in the books and we can not fathom how it could have gone any better than it did. We are daunted by it's success because we are afraid that a future workshop would never live up to the standard that we have now set. We had nearly 100 attendees and speakers. One Perl Monger came all the way from London to attend our workshop. Perl Conferences and Perl Workshops exist to serve the excellent and ever growing community of Perl Programmers. YOU made this workshop a major success with your participation in what we hope with be the first in a long line of successful Perl Workshops right here in Minneapolis MN.

Atomic Learning has come on board as our latest sponsor. Bonus points for the workshop attendee who tells me what movie "is it atomic?" comes from (though there could be more than one).

We are going to have a hackathon on Sunday, February 17th. More details are TBA.
Second, we have extended the student early-bird rate until January 29th, since school at the U of MN does not start until January 22nd. The non-student early bird rate still ends on January 12th, however.

Two exciting pieces of news. First, we have a preliminary schedule up, full of great talks. We're still waiting to get confirmation on most speakers, though, so stay tuned for inevitable adjustments.
Second, registration is now open. Take advantage of our early bird rate of $10 for students, $20 otherwise!

Our Call for Speakers is now closed. Thanks to everyone who submitted a proposal. There are lots of great proposals, and I'm excited about the schedule, which I think will be excellent.
We also have two new sponsors on board, Socialtext and Best Practical. Thanks very much to both of them.

The very first sponsor was a local company, Holmes Corporation! Thanks so much to them.
We've also heard back from Google, who will also be coming on board. Some of you might've heard of them, they make a pretty slick search engine. Thanks very much to Google as well.

Well, as you can see, we now have a live website. We'll have our Call for Speakers out very soon, as well as the conference rates and registration.
